The Designer

Shawna Marino

Shawna is a bridal and couture designer from Indiana. She graduated from Ball State University in July 2018 with a Bachelor in Apparel design, a Bachelor in Fashion Merchandising, and minor in Marketing.

She has specialized in bridal design and has spent time in New York City doing a design and production internship with JLM Couture. She worked alongside designer Allison Webb with the design of the Allison Webb and Ti Adora collections. Shawna excels in areas of embellishment and embroidery design, luxury gown pattern making, illustration, draping, apparel construction, and production. Shawna also has experience in bridal alterations and working with custom designs and gowns for brides while in NYC.

Shawna's vision for Shawna Marino Bridal is to design bridal, couture, and prom gowns with uniqueness in each gown. Her goal is to make every bride wearing our gowns feel like a princess. Shawna's passion for design sparked when she was a flower girl, and had a custom dress made for her. She loved the aspect of seeing the dress come together step by step. Furthermore, she wants to give all brides that same special feeling by creating beautiful dresses.

Shawna takes a lot of inspiration for her designs from the fabric and embellishments she sources. She loves to pick out luxury fabrics that catch the eye and let the dress create itself. Shawna's dream is to build her own empire in the bridal industry with her own design label & independent designer flagship.
